Synthesis | Using m-nitrobenzaldehyde as raw material, 6-ethoxy-1-methyl-2-(3-nitrophenylvinyl) quinoline methyl sulfate salt was synthesized. The reaction equation is as follows: |
Application | Method for modifying fibers and/or textiles with antimicrobial active components comprising a silver component desensitized with other components and optionally one or more additional antimicrobial components, wherein the other components used comprise at least one compound selected from quinoline derivatives. The antimicrobial active component preferably applied to the fiber or textile is a silver component that is desensitized with an additional component comprising a pinactinol yellow. Often, the antimicrobial active component used contains a silver salt as a silver component. In one embodiment of the present invention, the antimicrobial active component used comprises a silver salt formed in situ as a silver component and a pinactinol yellow as a further component. In one embodiment of the invention, the antimicrobial active component used comprises a silver salt as a silver component and at least one quinoline derivative and additional benzotriazole derivatives as a desensitizing component. The present invention also provides a method characterized in that the silver component is used in an amount of from 0.0001 wt% to 1.5 wt% (including, for example, from 0.0001 to 0.5 wt%) based on the total weight of the fibers or textiles. Based on the total weight of the fiber or textile, the desensitization component used is a quinoline derivative in an amount of 0.1 ppm-500ppm. The desensitization component comprises a combination of a single component of a frequency of a crypto-alcohol yellow or a frequency of a crypto-alcohol yellow with at least one other desensitization component. The invention also provides a formulation comprising a 0.01%-10% silver component and a 0.001%-2% butanol yellow. |
